Sterling Publishing (Sterling) has been named Small Publisher of the Year at the Publishers Australia Excellence awards – the premier awards event for the publishing industry.
The win in the Small Publisher of the Year category was supported by runner up honours for Sterling Publishing’s flagship title The Adviser in both the B2B Magazine of the Year and Integrated Media Brand of the Year categories.
The successful launch of Smart Property Investment and Real Estate Business in 2011 also contributed to the award win.
This year’s awards attracted over 300 entries from some of the biggest brands in publishing.
Other award winners included titles such as GQ Australia, marie claire, Vogue Australia, Wheels and FourFourTwo.
Recognition at the Excellence Awards has capped off a major year of achievement for Sterling Publishing.
The company made the BRW Fast Starters ranking in April; parent group Momentum Media then secured the 58th position in the BRW Fast 100 in October – driven by the strong growth of Sterling Publishing.
Group Publisher Alex Whitlock said that the strong backing of its advertisers and sponsors was pivotal in Sterling’s success.
“We have two goals: provide our readers with valuable information and content while giving our clients the best possible value for their advertising and sponsorship dollars – these objectives go hand in hand,” Mr Whitlock said.
“The support our clients have given us over the last four years has been outstanding,” he said. “Without the faith that they have shown in our publications we wouldn’t be where we are today.
